Burns Night ACW

Burns night and here are some of my favourite miniatures.

Acw action loosely based on battle of Brandy Station Captain James Hart orders one of the four remaining 12-pdrs to cover the withdrawal of the rest of the battalion.

7th Virginia cavalry emerge from the woods to the west to give support.

Another view of the 7th.

The 6th Virginias join the fray.

Artillery by Perry miniatures Cavalry by Foundry.

Another of Harts guns is sent to help.

No time to waste.

Both guns now lay on the canister.

The Union horsemen of Grimes Davis clash with the Rebs.

The battle commences.

This was thought to be one of the largest clash of sabers in the civil war.

Union by Foundry Flags by Flag Dude painted by the War Office.

Another view of the union.

The 2nd US cavalry.

Lieutenant Allen moments before he meets Grimes Davis who mortally wounds him.
