Sudan Camel Patrol

Hi guys, once more into the breach!

Wedding anniversary  this week to celebrate I took the wife through to Edinburgh Castle for the Brian Ferry concert she wanted to see.I have to say for a guy who is sixty five he really did put on quite a performance and we had a great day out in the capital.
My wife volunteered to pick up the Kids on our return allowing me time to get a quick Sudan set up for some new shots.
No new figures this week the War Office stuff should arrive tomorrow and the Touching History building haven't arrived yet so no pics of these yet.
On the plus side Josef has completed some of the Greens for the Ottoman/Hungarian collection will post some pics of these soon.

The dawn patrol take off in search of the elusive Osman Dinga.

Arriving at a village the search will begin.

Coming up behind the patrol the Dinga's tribesmen.

Camel corp dismount.

Spread out and search.

Tribes men reach the village whilst the search is in progress.

Osman Dinga not feeling the need to hide from anyone.

The tribesmen dismount and attack.

The Brits with nowhere to go have to stand and fight.

More tribesmen join the fray.

Outside the village the British look for a signal from the patrol.

A hurried message alerting the danger.

just like the movies the cavalry arrive in the nic of time trumpets blaring.

All the figures by Perry Miniatures painted by the War Office.

The tribesmen start to melt away.

Last shot of the week!
Buildings in these shots by Touching History terrain from TSS and Kallistra.
Best wishes

Prelude to Khartoum

Hi guy,s
This time back to the Sudan sun was shining for a short time when I got home so the Sudan collection were taken from the cabinet for some pics.
You may remember in the Film Khartoum starring Chalrton Heston one of the opening shots was of the Egyptains marching through the desert with the Mahdists waiting to pounce so here we go.

Egyptains moving supplies.

Unlucky infantry marching behind the dust kicked up by the horse.

Figures from Perry Minatures.

Hicks pasha before the ambush.

Madist watch from the high ground.

Fuzzys preparing to let loose.

Muhulla whips up the faithful.

Camels begin to charge.

Answar horse charge flags from the flag dude.

Egyptains try to keep formation.

Surrounded.

All figures painted by The War office.

A last shot.

This was the first collection that the War Office painted for me some years ago now.

Osman Dinga who went on to cause a load of trouble later.
With the perrys releasing new plastics for this conflict I expect to see an
expolsion of figures around in the near future I will certainly be adding some
to a couple of dhows later this year.
Cheers

Sandbags in the Sudan

Sudan again! I bought some sandbags this afternoon which promted this spate of pics, hope you enjoy.
This was the first Collection done for me by the War Office still one of my favourites.

Perry minatures with Flags again from flag dude.

Navel brigade again a favorite unit of mine.

Picked up the sand bags ready painted from shop in Glasgow at lunchtime today.

I am looking to fill out the collection with more livestock/civis/ barrels etc. I think this makes all the difference.I watched a dark age game at the Wappinshaw put on by Kirriemuir wargames club which had lots of these things which looked great. This was the best of show for me!

Loads of movement in these Perry figures.

Sand bags 6 peices in the set for £12 good value I think.

Rendera tent very versitile these.

Another good thing with the Sudan range is you can use them for the NWF as with these yorks&lancs.

The War Office did around 80 Scots for this collection.

Close up of the Scots.

Guns look very small compared with those a couple of decades earlier.
