The Big Guns

Hi gents,
Hectic at work since I got back from holiday so not had a chance to take pics of the new arrivals. Here are some pics of the ACW collection taken some time ago but never posted in the interim.
Perry 24 pdrs

Action at the rear.

These have to be the biggest guns in the collection.

All painted by the war office a few years ago.

Good thing about the Perry's is the number of variants for the guns.

This figure from the union camp set.

Last shot til the weekend hopefully get some pics of the latest arrivals then.
A lot of new stuff to see.
Best wishes
Willie

  4. Stop motion action and an old dilapidated wooden fence shedding it's white-wash! Can't get much better than that, Willie. Loved it!

  12. Some great looking figures, nicely painted and the gun and crew have that worn campaign feel about them. In these pictures you have also captured the atmosphere with your camera.

  13. Thanks for taking the time to comment gents,
KP in answer to the calibre
The 24-pdr had a 5-2/3 in bore, a barrel 9 ft 6 in long, and weighed 5400 pounds. Its overall length was slightly more than 11 ft. The length of the barrel was 20 times its diameter, or 20 calibres, which was typical.
    So said the google search!
