Defending the camp

Hi gents,

I have been busy chopping and gluing over the last couple of weeks and I am really enjoying how they are all coming together. Now I have said it before but the Crusades is my all time favourite period the problem is that it covers 200 years in the Middle East. So please forgive the licence used here with regards to the time frame.
I have decided to focus on the battle for Acre in the Third Crusade and then onto the other battles there after. I have already begun discussions on the terrain for this which will I hope will appear some time in the summer this will not be a quick project.

Another mix of figures Crusader Black Tree Foundry Perry and others all again by the talented David Jarvis.

The Bishop is a mix od Essex black tree and Fire Forge

Perry Saracens

Dave Jarvis is working on retinues next for me.
I converted around another dozen figures last night including the knights of St Lazarus which will be an interesting take on these warrior monks.
Now what you have just seen was not what was going to appear here tonight but I thought I would save that for another day.
For those who like the Crusades keep an eye on Captain Richards blog you will find the link on the left of this page I think you will see something very special of the next few months!

Thanks for stopping by!
Willie

  3. Great work as usual, Willie! Your promise of forthcoming Outremer terrain is very exciting, and I can't wait to see what you've got coming down the pipeline, so to speak!

  6. Evening Willie,
Years ago, well actually eons ago, I saw a coloured illustration of Richard the Lionheart lying on a bed, obviously suffering from some type of illness whilst at the siege of Acre. Whilst ill, Richard was supplied with loaded crossbows by his bodyguard and he was manfully firing them at the infidels on the walls. Now knowing your abilities, I would love to see you create a diorama of that.
By the way thats a fine collection you are putting together.
    Thanks Robbie.
