The Big Guns

Hi gents,
Hectic at work since I got back from holiday so not had a chance to take pics of the new arrivals. Here are some pics of the ACW collection taken some time ago but never posted in the interim.
Perry 24 pdrs

Action at the rear.

These have to be the biggest guns in the collection.

All painted by the war office a few years ago.

Good thing about the Perry's is the number of variants for the guns.

This figure from the union camp set.

Mounted officer in front of a touching history barn

Last shot til the weekend hopefully get some pics of the latest arrivals then.
A lot of new stuff to see.
Best wishes

ACW the big picture

Hi gents,

After last weeks transfer of troops here comes the fun bit!
Set this up after work today TSS tiles sitting on some conti board strips resting on trestles from B&Q this set up is only nine foot by four foot,I can make the table up to fifteen foot long but will have to stick to five/six foot wide to allow movement.

Acw on the nine foot by 4 foot table.

nearly two cabinets empty for this set up.

Hopefully pick up more of these tiles at the weekend.

It will be interesting to see the hole Acw collection on the table.

Union cassion by perry miniatures.

Bringing up the guns.

I am going to have to sort the lighting in this room for a better pic.
Off to make dinner now!
Best wishes

Rebel Guns

 Hi guys,
Once again a warm welcome to those who have taken the time to follow this site noticed a few more over the last week or so very much appreciated.
I was asked recently on TMP if I had any Rebel artillery in my collection so thought I would put some of the archive pics of these onto the blog.
I did try to post these direct to TMP but they failed to appear for some reason.
The figures as usual painted by The War Office.

I think there are around a dozen guns for the rebs not including the ones with the limbers!

Command base which Tony put together.

This figure taking a hit is a particular favorite of mine.

Perry limbers three of these for this collection.

Another limber rushes to the action!

Typical scene after the artillery fire!

Foundry cavalry.
Thanks for visiting.

Union get out the cabinet.

Hi guys,
Caught the civil war on tv the other day which prompted me to get these out of the cabinet,it was that series along with the book the Battle Cry Of Freedom which propelled me into the civil war collection a few of years ago now its one of my largest collections.

Birds eye veiw.

The figures are all Foundry/Perry.

Flags by Flag Dude.

Action scenes like this really capture the moment.

Union in this collection 36 infantry regiments 24 figures in each.

There are 4 Zouave regiments in the Union collection.

Again the mix of figures I think adds to the whole theatre of this war.

Fencing and trees mostly from the Last Valley.

Barn by Paul of Touching History.

All painted by the War Office.

Not everyone stood their ground some figures skedaddling to the rear.
Next up Spanish buildings which are arriving from Touching history so some shots of these later this week.
Best wishes

The Horse Soldiers

Hi guy's
We managed to string together 4 days of sunshine which means we have had a summer here at last!
Here are some shot's taken last week of the Union cavalry.
Forecast is for rain the rest of the week so will get some more pics done once we retreat back indoors.

Perry dismounted cavalry, Hovels church in the background converted and painted by touching history.

Horse artillery on the move again from Perry Miniatures.

Union cavalry from Foundry this time Flag's from the Flag Dude.

Great thing about the ACW is the huge variety of figures available although mine are 99% sculpted by the Perry twins in one guise or another.

This collection started after reading the Battle Cry of Freedom on holiday a couple of years ago cracking book!

All figures painted by Tony at the War Office

Bringing up the ammo for the gun's fencing made by me from cocktail sticks..

Another massed shot.

Last shot of the day still have a few more union cavalry not on the table here quite hard to get them all in one shot.
                                                                            Best wishes

ACW

 Hi Guy's
Some more pics of the ACW collection with a new back drop painted by me this afternoon I spoke to someone last week who told me to use wall paper for this as you can do any size you want very cheaply. This one is on MDF.
Foundry Zouaves.

Painted once again by the War Office.

The Iron Brigade by Foundry Flag's by the Flag Dude.

These were not sculpted by the Perry's for some reason but I think Aly Morrison did a great job of these.

Foundry cavalry by the Perry's this time.

Perry Miniatures ambulance set, I have one for each side and hope to have one converted for the Sikh collection in the near future.

Union Guns behind some Last Valley stone walling.

Rebel advance across some fencing I made funnily enough my daughter looked at this today and said that looks like cocktail sticks!

I love the drama of these figures the Perry twins really make them come to life.

Rebel guns mixture of foundry&Perry's.
